Ingeborg Progress Week 1

So here I am, deciding that I must finish Ingeborg before the holidays. How to stay on track? Commit to weekly progress photos on the blog. Think it will work?

I've finished one pattern repeat. (I think it may be about 4 pattern repeats from the bottom to the shoulder.) This close-up shows how my technique is progressing. I use a two handed method and it's going pretty quickly. And as you can probably see, my tension has improved quite a bit.
There was no way that I was going to rip this out due to some tension issues. This is my first Dale stranded sweater and I'm viewing it entirely as a learning experience. Besides, I figure a good blocking will even out that bit of wobbliness at the start.
In other news. . . Theresa and I went to The Fold in Marengo, IL for a spinning lesson. Toni, who owns the shop, is incredible, generous and very knowledgeable!! She got Theresa's wheel up and running in no time and fixed mine up too. If you are going to Rhinebeck, make sure you stop by and see her!

brave brave woman, I'd be so scared to attempt this, I can't wait to see the final result.

Your weekly reports seem to be working - you've already made progress. I'm going to try the 2-handed technique when I get around to starting my Starmore sweater (must do Christmas knitting first) - seems like the more efficient way to strand knit. I can't wait to see how this progresses.

Two-handed is the only way to go for color-work, I think! It's looking great and really, yes, I believe that I INSIST on weekly update photos. (Really, I'll be satisfied with nothing less!)

Your sweater is beautiful.
I love The Fold. I bought my wheel there and Toni gave me a crash course in spinning with a wheel that was so incredible.

I've been drooling over Ingeborg recently and put it on my must knit list. Your's is coming out gorgeous.
I went to Toni's group last Saturday. They met in Woodstock, IL. I can't wait to see her at Rhinebeck and get out to her store for a spinning meeting, aka shopping day.

It's gorgeous and remember blocking helps everything--you've inspired me to get back to my Colourwork classic sweater.
