The Princess Hat os blocking and the second attempt at the Baby Booga Bag is taking another trip through the wash. Meanwhile, I'm sipping broth and really wishing that the recovery from this surgery wasn't so darn looooong! I'm bored and cranky and ready to be back on my feet -- I can't stand to sit and rest. It's just not my nature!
On the reading front, I finished Watermelon. It was a great read. You haven't read any Marian Keyes
yet? What are you waiting for??
I also finished Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. When I picked it up I thought it was going to be about 9-11, but it was sooooo much more. I hear that his first novel -- Everything is Illuminated
-- is even better than this one, so i can't wait to read it!
And right now I'm half-way through White Teeth, which it turns out I had not read previously. I'm really enjoying it though.
As you can see, I've been putting in long hours laying in bed reading. Oh, and playing with this:
What can I say? I had to buy myself a pre-surgery gift. And it's pink! Seriously. . . how could I resist?

Thanks for the recommendation on the book. Ages ago I read Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married and I loved it. Last time I was in the used book store near my house I picked up Watermelon and 2 others and I haven't read any of them. Just finishing up 2 more books, then I will get going on them. If you like Marian Keyes, have you read "In her Shoes" by Jennifer Weiner? You would probably love it!

I finished Watermelon over the week-end...I have to say, girl had me worried until the end when she made her decision. It was a good read, I'll have to check out her other books.
I just started Eragon yesterday...Some crazy knit blogger read it and said it was good. Any idea who she is? ;)

How do you like the DS? What games do you play? I'm thinking about what kind of thing like that to get my girls for Christmas.

See? Now, I was disappointed by Extremely Loud. I didn't find the kid all that appealing and didn't really care whether he tracked down what his Dad had been doing . . . but then, I'd just finished "A History of Love" by Nicole Krauss (his SO, incidentally) and there are similarities in style, but I loved everything about hers . . . and since they were similar, it's possible that I didn't like his because it wasn't hers . . . if that makes any sense!
