The picture from a few posts ago? It was Ingeborg. I'm really determined to finish it this time. Since this is my first fair isle (stranded?) sweater, I'm kind of nervous about tension issues. However, I'm pressing on and doing at least 2 rows a day. I'll post pictures about once a week to keep me honest.
First words out of my mouth, "Oh my God."
2 colored stranding is a great way to get into the groove. As long as your work isn't pulling, you're doing it right!
Looks great so far.

It's so exciting to see another Ingeborg in progress! Mine will have to wait a while longer, so I'm glad someone else has one going, to tide me over.
If you can gently pull on the fabric to flatten out any puckering, you should be fine with the whole stranded knitting thing. Blocking will make it all beautiful, even if it isn't perfect when you first knit it.
Now I'm really tempted to swatch for mine, and to cast on the bottom red band. I have the red and the off-white yarn. I just need the black...

Oooh, very pretty. Good luck this time - I'm sure you won't have any problems finishing this beauty.

Well it looks beautiful so far. I couldn't do it, not yet anyway. I'm tackling cables now, maybe color work will be next...

Yes, it's a beautiful pattern--well worth the effort! The trick I find with color stranding is to spread your stitches out to the size they would be off the needle (not crunched together under your hand), so that any yarn you're "floating" across the back will have just the right amount of give--not so much that they sag, but not too little so that they pucker. It takes a little practice, but it's not that hard!

So, are you a one-handed or two-handed strander? I can't remember if you've mentioned (I think not)?

That is one very pretty multi-stranded sweater! I just don't think I would have the patience. But your's looks beautiful so far.

Now that it has finally gotten cool, maybe it's time for me to think about getting my Fair Isle sweater started, too. Maybe we can cheer each other on to the finish line!

Once you get going again you'll wonder why you ever put it down. I'm addicted now and just wish I'd had a go earlier.
